@RateYourCharge @itskyleconner I had 5 failed attempts in 8 charging stops on I91 Thurs, but could only report on PlugShare (a few taps). There's no time to fill out a complex questionnaire and upload a photo when you are stressing and scrambling to find an alternative charger. Need RateYourCharge app ASAP

@brian_henderson @RateYourCharge It was plugged in over two hours, charging at Chevy Bolt rates with a Hummer EV-size pack...definitely not engineered for public charger use!

While this school bus is not blocking access to EV chargers (beyond one in use); this really highlights how poorly existing #EVcharging infrastructure is architected. Same problem if the EV pickup would encounter if towing a boat or other trailer. cc @RateYourCharge

I wish Rivian had a “Chill” mode that makes it slower but wasn’t Conserve mode that gives it weird FWD driving dynamics - would be good for letting others drive it that may not be adequately prepared for an 800HP truck

@brandenflasch @ryanhuber I have noticed a definite improvement in the last two weeks or so, compressor is ramping up much earlier and pack never reaches the 50C cliff. No mention in release notes but it's there.

The crazy kids over at @Rivian have quietly made a HUGE improvement to the charge curve of the R1 platform in their latest software. It seems to anticipate peak temps in advance and form an actual curve now. Peak cell temp was 52.4C. This is by far my best charge session, ever.

@brandenflasch That's a standard witricity pad on the ground, but wallbox is not. But it will be able to do wireless V2H eventually. Still makes more sense for fleets and taxis.

@itskyleconner It's not the rare hardware malfunction that's concerning, it's EA's complete lack of response or care for this and a growing number of major issues and security flaws, combined with lack of any other choice for travel in many places. @brandenflasch

Another case of this type of reported incident. Having a hard time finding any links but again, something to keep an eye on. Still rare enough where I don’t have any concern of plugging in my own vehicles - but would like more info from all cases we’ve heard so far!

@itskyleconner @brandenflasch Well we now have all the diagnostic info on the EA screens, and data from Rivian CAN, so we can know exactly what's going on, if only their engineers would look at it too

It was nice pulling 200+kW for a while - until it rapidgated Now I’m feeling the side effect as the Rivian completely cuts off charging to just run cooling loads. Let’s hope this software fixes the overheating because this road trip is going on way longer than it should
