@AvantiWestCoast why can't I book tickets for travel on 29 December - you offer them to me, but then say there are no seats left, but this is for every train, even in first class.

Sadly I've chosen c) both trying to fly and being truthful which seems to mean I either have to pay for my seats to be sat with my 1 (and later 2) year old son, or, with apologies to the others on the flight, let him sit with strangers

I think the lesson I am learning here is that you should either a) avoid at all costs flying with a child that turns two between the outbound and return trips or b) lie about your childs age on online check-in and hope to sort it all out at the airport.

@easyJet you tell me I have to buy a ticket for my child as they turn two during the trip, but then you won't let me insert his passport details to check in because he's under two. What am I supposed to do?

@AvantiWestCoast Yes I know there are engineering works, and the journey details has the replacement bus etc there, but I still can't buy a ticket. Are you telling me that you have reached full capacity for the morning of 29 December, and if so why say tickets are available?

@RevRichardColes Our holiday last year was in the heart of comté country, one of the cheese mongers in the town had a vending machine in case you needed comté in the middle of the night

@oldenoughtosay As a general rule going earlier means much quieter, I've still not really worked out what French familes do in the morning, but they're not in our local park, but everyone is there 4-5pm.

@oldenoughtosay The permanent collections of the Paris museums (parismuseescollections.paris.fr/fr) are free - i took my daughter to the Musee d'art Moderne last week and she happily spent a couple of hours there (with some laughing at the bottoms in some of the paintings)

@pranavdotexe @BrentToderian The improved infrastructure is definitely part of it, but I also think the increase in availability and lower price (and grants) for ebikes has also made a big difference, people more willing to cycle if don't arrive tried/sweaty

@BrentToderian What made people switch to bicycles? Any study on this with more details? I believe infra is the easy part, getting people to use it is harder. Would love to get more insights.

Air pollution has dropped significantly in #Paris in the last 15 years. Mayor Anne Hidalgo’s leadership has traded car space for green space, safe bike space, kid space.. and traded pollution for people. Good trade.

@Chris_arnade How many places have you had to apply for a full visa and not just a visa waiver/e-visa application? It's usually only the full visa application that requires the detailed travel history so as a US passport holder you probably get to avoid it for a lot of places (as do I as UK)

@jwbstead As a US passport holder, who has travelled a lot, and applied for a lot of visas, only have gotten it before from China
