"you think you're getting 93 to 1 right, and of course you're gonna win $930,000 right" "it turns out my bet's getting dumped to wall street market makers for a fraction of the amount. it was like 60% vig basically on this bet" "why is it if i bet $10 i'm getting 93 to 1 and if i bet $1,000 now it's suddenly 38 to 1? that's not sports betting, that's some other shit"

@ChallengeThink @yonann I agree prediction markets are overall superior to sportsbooks and will obsolete them soon. I was just saying Draftkings guy was right on one of the disadvantages of Kalshi/Poly (order filling). He just didn’t mention any of the downsides of sportsbooks so he can stay in business

Yeah that’s super fair it just feels disingenuous coming from a Sportsbook cofounder to me. I’m making a bit of a bs argument here but does a sportsbook advertise that they take around a 10% implicit vig on every single bet? Or that their cash out offerings are given at a fraction of fair value? Or that their parlays massively deflate odds? The sportsbook’s sole job is to take money from bettors so this seems like a bit of a laughable tactic here

@yonann We live in a time where people are willing to gamble $10k on a platform without understanding the fundamental liquidity and order fills on said platform. If you want to buy someone has to sell… this isn’t a Sportsbook and has never been labeled as such, it’s a feature not a bug
