@oldscarf1stweek The easiest way to avoid chaser traffic jams and reckless driving is to not chase.

@CameronJNixon I’m going to cheat using eastern Colorado pictures from 2019 but they were a blue core!

@oldscarf1stweek Even nearly 7 years after the fact, I think Prospect Valley, CO still wins for me.

Last night, the 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron flew into the eye of Hurricane Erin—and captured imagery of the breathtaking stadium effect.
These missions provide critical data to the NHC to improve forecasts, helping keep communities safe before the storm makes landfall.#readynow #weatherready

@PaxBiggs This is how I felt after flying out for my chasecation last week. Even after seeing tornadoes on Thursday and Friday, I was already exhausted and didn’t have any spark to keep going. The bust on Sunday and not liking yesterday at all made it easy to just grab a flight home
English

@Tornado_Steejo @JordanHallWX @Tornado_Warned Ok, that makes sense then. We considered going up that road but we wouldn’t have been able to deploy with the storm motion. We were just to the SE of you right at the point there before the road curves back to the ESE.
English

@jycfc @JordanHallWX @Tornado_Warned Was sitting on a N/S dirt road that paralleled the edge of the canyon wall from top just north of Hwy 62 The tornado seemed to flow right along the canyon edge.

English

You will never convince me this is not hands down an EF5. I’ve NEVER seen motion like that even on some of the EF4 I have seen! Skip to 3:48 and turn your volume up. @Tornado_Steejo @Tornado_Warned

@oldscarf1stweek @369Hurricane The deterministic Euro and ensembles have been very consistent painting a nice stretch of days from the 24th through the 2nd.
This is also my chasecation, so I am totally not biased in my thoughts.

one of the last looks at CFS chicken cutlets before I really just focus on globals before I depart on 4/25, eta 4/26-4/27 into the chasecation/national parks tour (TBD)
Same not dead/not insane look for end of April and Early May, playing the “when will the ridge come” game
4/24-4/30 as well as 5/6-5/10 stretches have my interest

@webberweather This was not one of the areas I studied much while getting my bachelor’s degree. What is the typical impact on severe weather prospects with these waves?
English

A Convectively Coupled Kelvin Wave (CCKW) is going to move thru the global tropics the next few weeks and will have a significant impact on the mid to high-latitude weather pattern the rest of this month into May.
Here's how you can spot a Convectively Coupled Kelvin Wave using a Hovmoller diagram
Hovmollers are very powerful tools if you know how to use them.

Long time followers here know that I don’t do politics, and there’s no political content on this account. I vote; and that’s it. The world does not need another social media nitwit telling people how to think and vote.
This post is not about politics, but about support for my friends that work for the National Weather Service, part of NOAA, a federal agency.
NWS meteorologists work long, hard hours serving the people of this country, not only during times of severe weather, but on the routine days as well.
Their surface and upper air observation networks along with computer models, radars, and satellites are critical for all meteorologists, including those of us in the private sector.
Most NWS field offices are currently understaffed right now. I can only imagine morale is not especially high.
Many high-level politicians follow this page, both Democrats and Republicans. I would encourage them and all of you to support my colleagues at the National Weather Service during this time. Their service is absolutely invaluable.
If NWS products and services are reduced, we all suffer…especially during times of life-threatening weather.

@CBSSportsGolazo @ChristinaUnkel Now we know for sure the decision was wrong

Should Brugge have been awarded that controversial 94' penalty?
@ChristinaUnkel believes YES 👀
