I don't know the details of these systems, how they're used in practice. No one not there does (that's part of the appeal, to some). But I know the narratives + promises of the AI mythology are being used to authorize + give a veneer of computational sophistication to mass death.

NY Times puts out a piece of "who's who" who has worked a decade+ to advance AI that, amazingly, is only men. That's intentional, right? It's legitimately hard to do that. Fwiw, I've worked well over a decade on AI. I actually even won the "decade test of time" award last year...

@kellyneuner @abookapart @strangetimespdx @RosenfeldMedia Agreed, but simply being written by women doesn't necessarily mean their books cover those points. Similarly, some books by men may cover such important issues. It comes down to, which is more important - the content or the author's race/gender/etc? Is this about representation?

It's always worthwhile to diversify your sources to get a full picture of the design field (or any field you're interested in!)
