New era Over the last 2 years, 1990 Studio has been everything and more than we had hoped. Fred and I have had the privilege of building with some of the most inspiring people and companies. Now, we are ready to put all of our eggs in one basket and build a generational product at Cosmos. So excited to show you all what we have been crafting. 🤍

Excited to share that we've acquired 1990 Studio! @k_wagner and @fredbwagner are brothers from Copenhagen behind some of the most beautiful apps on the internet. Today, they’re joining Cosmos full time. Wait until you see what they've been building ☀️

@ios_dev_alb 100%. Using SwiftUI with a base understanding of UIKit is killer, but alone, doesn’t do it. It’s like calling yourself a typescript dev without understand underlying JS principles.

Should every iOS dev know UIKit in 2025? 🧐

Font morphing [orbit] Last month I spent a lot of time creating sphere projections. I wanted to take this further by extending UILabel and mapping each glyph, making it possible for letters to spin in space. Love this as a metaphor for the text 'thinking'.

@natkohasic Nope, its working with sans and serifs as well (the ligatures were a little tricky!)

@k_wagner Sick implementation, love it. Does it need mono font to work?

@dankuntz so cool! haven't used the SwiftUI canvas much, but this looks very promising.

@k_wagner Nice, reminds me of some pseudo-3D experiments I did in SwiftUI Canvas a while back. Almost the same as yours with the addition of blurring stuff that’s farther away from the camera

@hndrk_schfr Would love to see this done with css! Might do a web version at some point...most likely using motion.

@k_wagner love this! imagining it might be nicer if there's some text blurring while it "selects and puts text together"

@dankuntz Exactly, use a UILabel wrapper that creates a shadow map of all on-screen characters that can then be animated on demand. Nice thing is you maintain all core features from UILabel / UITextView.

@k_wagner Very nice, so each character is a separate UILabel?
