I can't get my head around the idea that so many people in South Africa choose NOT TO VOTE when the problems we have are so visible around us each day! How much do you have to not care about your own life, your future, and the lives of your fellow South Africans to not exercise the one thing in your direct control when it comes to politics? On Twitter, I am known for mainly posting about travel content. When I post about politics, people tell me to "stay in my lane" and focus on the "uplifting stuff". This is so insane to me. People don't fully appreciate how much politics impacts every facet of our lives and actually have the nerve to tell me that I shouldn't worry about my future, or theirs. I can't believe I have to spell this out for you. Incredibly bad things happen when good people witness bad things happen around them and do nothing. I don't care for losing followers. I don't care for upsetting random people on the internet. I DO care about South Africa and I care about our future. The easier thing for me to do is say NOTHING about politics and pretend that everything is ok. If you have an iota of respect for yourself and your fellow man, you would equally be shouting from the rooftops about others registering to vote. You would use your platform, however big or small, and encourage others to have their say in six months.
