Tesla is banned from selling cars in the below states (according to Grok), but they've been able to find clever workarounds to continue selling.
For example, Tesla will title the vehicle out of state and only deliver it to your nearest SC when financing is complete.
This way, Tesla is not "selling" you a vehicle in your state. They are only delivering it.

Tesla is suing the state of North Dakota because the state won't allow the company to open any showrooms/service centers and sell direct to consumers.
North Dakota law prohibits vehicle manufacturers from owning car dealerships and requires them to sell their products to franchised dealerships for resale to consumers.
“Tesla just wants to be able to sell its vehicles in North Dakota, and not force customers who would wish to purchase a Tesla vehicle to have to drive to Minnesota or another state to do it,” said Ari Holtzblatt, one of Tesla’s attorneys in the case.
Tesla is asking the court to declare the company does not fall within the definition of manufacturer contained in state law. The term is defined as a person who assembles or imports a motor vehicle and sells it to dealers in the state for resale.
It's wild that in 2026, we still have U.S. states that won't allow direct vehicle sales to consumers. It hurts consumers and reduces choice.

@magic33number @greggertruck I've evacuated numerous times since 2012 for hurricanes etc. with a Plug-in, just charge up the night before you might need to boogie
English

@greggertruck You’re screwed if you have to evacuate due to a hurricane or something similar and are stuck. Gas Stations everywhere and it takes like 5 minutes for a full tank. Gas cars still rein supreme.

@FeeHeath1975 @puckman66 @JamesTate121 We had a guy killed here last year, where if you pointed out that he basically said this is going to happen and is worth it, people took great effort to get you fired for pointing out his actual quote rather than my fuzzy paraphrase.

@FeeHeath1975 @puckman66 @JamesTate121 I think we usually go two without, last I checked we average one every 72 hours 😢, it went way down for a blip at the start of our covid infection

Too on point not to share, “Aussie reply to Trump rant about NATO not being there for us.
Mate. You run a country with 600,000 homeless people sleeping on the street tonight. A country where 40% of adults can't cover a $400 emergency without borrowing money. A country where insulin costs more than a car payment and people are rationing it to survive. A country where medical debt is the number 1 cause of bankruptcy. A country where women are dying in hospital car parks because doctors are too scared of abortion laws to treat a miscarriage.
You lock up more of your own citizens than any nation on earth. More than China. More than Russia. More than North Korea. The land of the free has 2 million people in cages, and a quarter of them haven't even been convicted of anything. They're just too poor to make bail.
Your life expectancy is going backwards. You're the only developed nation where that's happening. Your infant mortality rate is worse than Cuba's. Your kids do active shooter drills between maths and English while you sell the gunmaker's stock to your mates.
Your minimum wage hasn't moved in 15 years. You've got teachers working 2 jobs and veterans sleeping under bridges and you just spent a trillion dollars flattening a country that didn't attack you.
And you’ve got a convicted felon, adjudicating raping, paedophile protecting, porn star shagging insurrectionist running the biggest dumpster fire war campaign since the Taliban thanked you very much for losing again.
And you're calling Greenland poorly run?
Greenland has universal healthcare. Free education. One of the lowest incarceration rates in the world. Nobody goes bankrupt there because they got sick. Nobody dies in a waiting room because their insurance said no.
"NATO wasn't there when we needed them." When exactly was that, champ? September 11? Because NATO invoked Article 5 for the first and only time in history FOR YOU. Soldiers from dozens of countries deployed, fought, bled, and died in Afghanistan FOR YOU. Australia wasn't even in NATO and we still showed up. For 20 years.
And you pulled out at 2am without telling anyone and left them to deal with the mess.
So maybe before you start calling other countries poorly run, have a look at your own backyard, you spray-tanned aluminium siding salesman. The only thing poorly run in this picture is your fucking mouth. Credit (borrowed from) Jim Scroggins - original author 📷 unknown”

@OccupyDemocrats @ProgressNow00 *wild tiny hand gestures "clean coal"
English

BREAKING: Trump announces plan to allow corporations to dump coal ash – which is TWICE as radioactive as *nuclear fuel* – into our drinking water!
Yes, you read that right. Trump’s EPA is proposing to weaken rules for the safe disposal of super-mega-toxic ash produced by burning coal that contains hazardous heavy metals and contaminates groundwater.
“The Trump administration proposed easing standards for monitoring and protecting groundwater near some coal ash sites, and rolling back rules that require the cleanup of entire coal properties rather than just the sites where ash was dumped. The revisions would also make it easier to reuse coal ash for other purposes,” reports the Associated Press.
EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin said the proposal reflects the agency’s “commitment to restoring American energy dominance, strengthening cooperative federalism, and accommodating unique circumstances at certain (coal) facilities.”
The rules were strengthened by – you guessed it – the Biden administration a few years ago, and now Trump is trying to gut them on behalf of his cronies in Big Coal.
It is shocking to see just how eagerly the Trump administration is gutting all the regulations that keep us safe.
“The Trump administration just took a sledgehammer to the health protections in place for toxic coal pollution,” said Lisa Evans, senior counsel at environmental group Earthjustice. “This is yet another handout to the coal power industry at the expense of our health, water, and wallets.”
He is more than willing to make us drink poison and develop terrible cancers, all so his donors can save a little bit of money on cleaning up the toxic byproducts of their carbon pollution.
There is nothing sacred to these nihilistic scumbags, no respect for anything but their own bottom lines. Trump is willing to burn everything to the ground just so he can be king of the ashes – with not a care in the world for the millions of people who will suffer and die because of his decisions.

@Dano_DeGaston @PolitiReality @wholemars @WR4NYGov That's interesting because even Elon was saying Earth to Earth rockets for this distance, always interesting when fans claim even more than their champion.
English

@PolitiReality @wholemars Tesla has done some amazing things
Elon's list of broken promises is sadly a very large stain on the company.
But sadly, even worse are the Elon cult members. . . His cult members look 20x worse than Elon.
Case:
@WR4NYGov claimed hyperloop from LA <-> China

You can't make this shit up. @wholemars eggs people on to buy at $400 just a month ago saying we are going to $500+, and then a month later calls them cucks.

Global trade routes like the Strait of Hormuz cannot be held hostage. About a fifth of the world’s oil passes through that route, so keeping it open is critical for the global economy.
If Iran continues to block it, firm action becomes necessary. There are consequences for destabilizing such a vital region. No country can disrupt the world economy without facing pushback.
IRAN should open it now to avoid further escalations.

On Easter morning, this is what President Trump posted.
Everyone in his administration that claims to be a Christian needs to fall on their knees and beg forgiveness from God and stop worshipping the President and intervene in Trump’s madness.
I know all of you and him and he has gone insane, and all of you are complicit.
I’m not defending Iran but let’s be honest about all of this.
The Strait is closed because the US and Israel started the unprovoked war against Iran based on the same nuclear lies they’ve been telling for decades, that any moment Iran would develop a nuclear weapon.
You know who has nuclear weapons?
Israel.
They are more than capable of defending themselves without the US having to fight their wars, kill innocent people and children, and pay for it.
Trump threatening to bomb power plants and bridges hurts the Iranian people, the very people Trump claimed he was freeing.
On Easter, of all days, we as Christians should be reminded that the son of God died and rose from the grave so that we can be forgiven once and for all of our sins. Jesus commanded us to love one another and forgive one another. Even our enemies.
Our President is not a Christian and his words and actions should not be supported by Christians.
Christians in the administration should be pursuing peace. Urging the President to make peace.
Not escalating war that is hurting people.
This NOT what we promised the American people when they overwhelmingly voted in 2024, I know, I was there more than most.
This is not making America great again, this is evil.

@APilipovic @DennisCW_ Buying luxury tier when you already can't afford what you've got isn't a good move, no, that is correct, get a budget trim. Also lower maintenance for life especially if you keep it over 5 years or even more.

🚨 $7.69/gallon of gas is $2,848/year...
.. thats $237 a month
or you could get a NEW Model 3 for $269/Month ⚡️
Here's the math:
• $7.69/gallon gas means ~$2,848/year
At 3 years = ~$8,544
• You could get a Model 3 for $269/month
= $12,684 for 3 years ($3k down)
That’s only a ~$4,100 difference… for an entire car.
or $113/month
Now add electricity: (charging at home)
~$625/year → $1,875 for 3 years
Basically…
You’re getting a brand new Tesla
for the price of gas + a couple hundred bucks a month
…and if you add FSD, your gas budget now comes with a chauffeur 👀

BREAKING: US gas prices are forecasted to hit nearly $6 this year — a record high.

FSD Supervised can reduce risk of hydroplaning
Through Tesla Vision, your Tesla continuously estimates the wetness of the road in rainy conditions.
Using that data + real-time vehicle input & response + estimated tire tread depth, it can then automatically change your speed profile to Chill & adjust speed as needed to help keep you safe
