Soon you'll be able to connect Mixpanel to tables in your data warehouse to automatically import data to Mixpanel as new data is added to your tables. This is a big deal because it opens up two possibilities. mixpanel.com/blog/warehouse…

@TLBJames I get my second shot Saturday. A bit of arm pain the two days after the shot was the only rough part. I’ve heard it’s more common to feel bad after the 2nd, but we shall see.

@joshelman Agreed on SMS. I think a general challenge with growth teams is that they are by definition focused on optimizing a metric and that needs to be constrained by what user experiences fit in the overall product strategy. Stuff that just juices the numbers has to be out of bounds.

@kadamk Understanding the client ecosystem was probably ok. And I had some ideas on how to make them show ads and return the impressions back too. The SMS stuff was a bit of a stretch ;)

This is a dense thread, but it is a really important illustration of focusing on the only metric that matters - How many people are *really* using your product?

@joshelman This is all true. But we had also made a transition from platform to heavy focus on our own clients. We just couldn’t know much about engagement on 3rd party clients, and cutting them out of the metrics would have felt like a setback. Prob should have taken that hit though.
