Call me crazy, but parents should be fined if their kids are absent from school regularly without a justifiable reason. This whole thing happening in Ontario with attendance feels like neglectful parenting.

The article mentions that attendance dipped since the pandemic. There could be many positive reasons for this. 1) Being tired of indoctrination. 2) High school students may be starting to realize that they're capable of self-learning and they may have started asking how much they need their teachers. This isn't a bad thing. I think it's the future. I also think this generation is also more likely to become entrepreneurs at some point. All good things. They will work hard and care about where their money goes/ how much they're paying in taxes.

@terrynewman @CanadaMom73 Should also look at teacher attendance. The amount of times my teens are doing “nothing” or shuffled off to assemblies or to watch sports is interesting. My oldest also moved most of her classes online. Wonder if they counted for that.

Georgian Mall in Barrie yesterday. This has happened multiple times at this mall over the last several months. The Canada we knew and loved is slipping from our fingers….

My kids school has “sweater day” where they tell kids to wear sweaters to school so they can turn the heat off for a day, all in the name of “climate change” Ya that’s gonna stop the weather from changing. This is indoctrination, not education. Get this garbage out of our schools.

I just got an email from my daughters high school which is a public school with an attachment for students interested in attending a formal dance and dinner at the school for Diwali. If interested you need to pay $20.00 There is never a Christmas formal dinner and dance offered. Ever.
