@ReigateRabbit My kid corroborated it - apparently they can’t go in the gym until it’s repaired. Didn’t happen whilst the kids were there though.

Today one of my kids came home from Reigate Priory and told me they couldn't go in there because 'the lights fell from the ceiling in the gym hall' - has anyone else heard this?

@SurreyCouncil As you’re going to pursue the planning application for the relocation of RPJS despite the majority choosing option 2 - when will this be going back to your planning committee? People are saying next month but surely you need to actually fix some of it first?

Which obviously didn’t match up with what they said two years ago. Personally I think they’re just saying whatever they think will stop us from worrying about it being left to decay if it’s not a school.

The question I’ve got about the proposed move of Reigate Priory School to Woodhatch Place is this What happens to the current building if Surrey succeed with their plan? Seems like a lack of a long term plan to look after an important heritage asset #Reigate

@SurreyCouncil When you say later this year, does that mean it won’t be next month? Weeks doesn’t sound like any amendments to it will be big enough to make a difference to the families that it would negatively impact if it were to pass planning.

@kate45248694 @Scandiwegians @stuart_holmes1 I think the same would rule out hotels etc. The only realistic alternative use would be ideas like register office, library, etc., but then you come back to the maintenance costs falling on SCC which is one of the reasons they keep saying the school can’t stay there.

@Scandiwegians @stuart_holmes1 Realistically, would you live in a flat where anyone in the park can look right into your home? Under the listing I don’t think you could put a big fence across the frontage… my worry: if the school moved out there’s no realistic alternative use.

Cabinet has agreed for an education working group to explore reorganisation options for schools in the primary planning area of Reigate, whilst also pursuing the live planning application to relocate Reigate Priory Junior School to see if this is viable. orlo.uk/Zh3yd

@SurreyNews Your “no one left behind” is admirable - however by pursuing the relocation to WHP without a suitable alternative school for Holmesdale families you will be leaving all of those families behind. They won’t be able to get between the two schools safely and on time.

Don’t think it would be fair to be late just because SCC doesn’t appear to recognise the distance between WHP and the main feeder school for Priory.

The cynic in me looks at the timing of this cabinet meeting & thinks this has been timed to avoid having too many annoyed parents in attendance #stopthemove @stopthemove_rp

Tory controlled #Surrey County Council have now squandered £3Million of taxpayers money on a failed attempt to move Priory School from its current location in the centre of #Reigate to a site in Woodhatch - when will they listen to the majority of parents who don’t want this?

They also don’t talk to each other & don’t keep up with each others lies, it’s quite fun correcting them with what their colleagues have previously said.

So why does @SurreyCouncil state the “DfE scheme required new a 3-storey building”? It’s simply not true…?

@SurreyCouncil Please reconsider the whole plan. I’ve done 4 years of running between Holmesdale and Priory already, with 1 more year to go - when I tell you it’s not feasible for parents to get between the two in the time required if Priory is moved I mean it. You need a better plan.
