Exa raised $250M at a $2.2B valuation, led by a16z, to continue organizing the web for agents: - Exa now serves search to Cursor, Cognition, Openrouter, 5000+ other companies, 500k+ developers - We’re SOTA in many important verticals (code, companies, people, news, more very soon) - We make agents smarter and cheaper by returning 90% less text with little to no tradeoff in RAG quality - We’re building out web agents that are Pareto optimal on price x performance x latency, possible because we own our search stack fully end to end We used to tell candidates that without innovation in search, we may live in a world where we have both AGI and fake news. Funnily enough, I think that we’ve now been living in such a world for quite some time. With this funding, we should be able to dramatically improve the state of information in society. 🚀🚀🚀

Thanks to @SherryYanJiang, @agrimsingh, and the organizers/speakers/sponsors for making @aiDotEngineer Singapore happen over this weekend, letting me go into the rabbit hole of MCPs/CLIs, and how to wire up your agent. Met a lot of new people and reconnected with many friends!

We're settling the MCP vs. CLI debate by benchmarking Codex and Claude Code across 3 different APIs, totaling 756 runs. We also cover skills, code mode, pretraining bias, and how MCP fits in the broader picture. The results might surprise you👇

@kamathematic i understand totally and I love working at startups but this fails your analogy. you think big companies dont want professional chefs anymore?

vibe coding is cooking at home; software engineering is being a professional chef. access to kitchens didn't put restaurants out of business

@goodbyesahil big companies are laying people off, but startups are in an insane talent deficit! workatastartup.com is a great resource i've personally had success with before

Trying something out, pretty experimental. Get a fully typed SDK (including output schemas!) for *any* of our 5,000+ servers on @SmitheryDotAI. Code mode, gen UI, and any workflow with only one API key needed: your Smithery API key (OAuth built-in!)

@aidenybai finding this to actually not be that big of a concern though; opus/codex are capable of being given these MCPs and nontrivial downstream tasks of generating a dashboard from tool call results. here’s something i one-shotted across a few different servers:
