Dash 8.1.0 is out 🎉 This release adds new Android and Ruby 4 docsets and some bug fixes for macOS Tahoe. The Android docset is quite massive and took a while to get right. Please contact me if you notice anything missing.

@xbladesub Dash stores data in the keychain, like many other apps. Allowing access gives Dash access to that specific item, not your entire keychain. You can check what that item contains in the Keychain Access app.

@kapeli Why did the app suddenly start asking for my keychain password? I downloaded the new version from the official website. I can't allow it to access my keychain, and unfortunately, I can no longer use the app.

@Zevrix I’ve started working on adding this, but it lead to more issues than it solved, so I stopped. If more users ask for this, I’ll reconsider.

@kapeli any news on this? or did the developer abandon his customers?

@NSExceptional As far as I can tell you have Dash set to Objective-C. Does it show the annotation when you set it to Swift? I’ll look into improving the styling, thanks for the feedback.

Hey @kapeli, why are the Dash-generated Apple docs missing some parts of the official docs? (i.e. @ MainActor annotations) And, why are they styled so differently? The ultra-thin fonts make it hard to read…

@CastIrony @kapeli I like dash cause it works offline and has a pretty quick search, but the way it surfaces Swift overloadable functions isn't great

@demmer12 No, sorry. The newer versions of Java require Dash 7.

@kapeli I have a fully licensed version of Dash 4.6.7 (800). I'm working with a new client whose projects use Java 21. But, the latest version of Java that I see in Dash is 12. Can I install docs for newer versions of Java without having to upgrade Dash?

@drct No, sorry. Only Dash 7 is available for purchase currently.

@kapeli Then I try to use my iPhone. It didn't find my Apple Pay card. PayPal loaded, but always got an unknown error. Maybe because I am in China. At last, I had to use the third paying method, directly provided the card info. This worked finally on my Mac.

@kapeli Dash no longer works with Xcode 15.4 (15F31c). Dash Version 5.5.2(950).

@NachoSoto Does it happen with other docsets too or just the Apple API Reference docset? Do you have Dash's dock icon disabled? Do you have annotations enabled? What version of macOS and Dash are you using? Do you have any other apps running that might interfere with Dash/mouse events?

@albertkinng App settings are not stored within the .app file, it's safe to delete it.
