My daughter got a job offer from Tesla "Papa, it's $250k a year and I'll work on autonomous driving!" I sighed "You have only a bachelor's degree. You are not qualified to work on anything" She started showing me the offer letter I closed the laptop "You will do your masters. Then a traineeship at a respectable German company. Then we can talk" "But dad, my friend moved to the US with just a bachelor's and already makes over $300k..." "And does your friend have a recognised European postgraduate qualification?" She didn't answer Case closed In Europe we educate first and work later That's why our companies are built to last

A junior said "Good morning" to me in the elevator. I checked my watch. It was 11:00 AM. I looked at him. "It's almost lunch," I said. "You're three hours late to the concept of morning." He tried to explain he'd been at his desk since 7. I interrupted and told him accuracy matters more than intent. I emailed his reviewer suggesting he take a CLE on time management. He apologized later. I didn't reply. I forwarded the apology to HR as proof of his inefficiency. Greetings are risky. He learned an important lesson. Never speak to a partner in the elevator. Unless spoken to.

@NadelParis @MrPitbull07 Hahha what a shit take. I bust my balls for $30 an hour. She brought 5 plates and 5 drinks and asked if everything is okay. No she didn’t deserve $120 for that hour. I’m sorry

I don’t believe you even tweeted something like that! If you can’t afford to tip your server at least 20%—after they’ve served you, hauled plates from the kitchen to your table, and scraped by on an insufficient wage—then don’t go out to eat. For a $500 bill, that’s $100. Waiters depend on tips; they’re paid by the customers here. French servers might come off as rude or uninterested in fawning over you, constantly checking if “everything is okay,” but at least they earn real wages and can cover their bills better than American servers can these days. It’s not their fault we have a thug as president who enriches himself while slapping tariffs—a tax—on the American people, and still does after that Supreme Court ruling. Soon, robots will take over the work anyway. In the meantime, restaurants are shutting down one after another thanks to Trump’s tariffs, as people can’t afford to dine out, whether they tip properly or stiff their waiters.

We went to a dinner as a group and had a $500 bill. We tipped $40. We were happy we can be able to give our server something, but her reaction was the opposite. She told us she assumed we're going to give her at least $120. When we asked for the manager, she said she was just joking, but she wasn't smiling at all. Idk, but is $40 tip enough for $500 bill? I just feel like expecting $120 is not realistic. ~Lea Robertson
