Billionaires don’t have bank accounts like you and me. They have art collections,Yachts,Mansions,Stocks. None of it gets taxed until they sell it. So they just never sell it. They borrow against it instead. Live off the loans. Pay almost nothing. Then when they die, their kids inherit it all tax-free. The wealth never gets taxed, It just gets passed down. And we wonder why the gap keeps getting wider.

@timishigh @Jacksonsrule They pay the interest (which is very little) but the asset usually appreciates in value at a rate higher than the interest on the loan so they can just borrow again against the same asset if needed. They never pay the principal, the goal is to die before that happens

@timishigh @Jacksonsrule Basically the take a loan with the asset as collateral. They usually borrow very little compared to the value of the asset so they get a really good interest rate (borrow 10$ using a 100$ bill as collateral)

Esta imagen hace 5 años era simplemente ciencia ficción, el sueño humedo de un friki... Hoy es real. Y esto no es algo porque tenga filia a los pingüinos, sino que esto significa la libertad que el PC va a llegar, pudiendo adaptarse a cualquier cosa sin la necesidad de tener que estar atados a las reglas de una empresa. El día de mañana un PC gaming no significará lo que significa a día de hoy, que es algo completamente constreñido, sino que podrá significar prácticamente cualquier cosa que ejecute videojuegos manteniendo la compatibilidad de los juegos lanzados desde el principio de los tiempos en PC. Gracias a todos los que han estado haciendo posible que lleguemos aquí. Por supuesto Valve, pero ellos son solo los que han organizado y orquestado un trabajo que tiene décadas.

En PC no uséis el navegador Brave y en Google Chrome tampoco uséis las extensiones AdBlock ni uBlock. Para móvil no uséis la app de Brave y ni se os ocurra descargar la app CleanTube. Por culpa de ellos ya no puedo ver anuncios.

@DancsCatalans Hi ha un problema, cal diferenciar aquelles obres artístiques en què la llengua és un element vital (p.ex. música) i les que no (castells). Per mi, Shakira no és cultura catalana però els castellers asiàtics podrien arribar a ser-ho (contribueixen a la concepció de Catalunya).

@Kornstalx @Pirat_Nation Those performance numbers are WITHOUT ESync and FSync, which were precursors to NTSync. Nobody would purposefully disable Esync and Fsync unless they had to. Compared to today's Proton, there will be no discernible performance difference.

@jamonholmgren Even when it is real often times it is not. I've worked on software that had to be done by X date because it was bundled with hardware that could not be updated and the release date could not be move. Guess what? The release date was moved because the hardware was not ready

In my 20 years of consulting, you wouldn’t believe how many times I’ve been told urgent deadlines that ended up being fake. Now I ask for details on why a deadline is real. Is there an event this will be used at? Are you preparing for the start of the school year? What exactly is the deadline based on? Otherwise it’s fake and I’ll just proceed at the best possible sustainable speed.
