I am traveling in India and my MacBook M4 Pro fried. It was working perfectly fine, and I let it run to zero battery. Then it refused to boot up regardless of charging. Apparently it was in DFU mode and has failed a DFU revive attempt at Bangalore’s Apple store. Now they want to replace the “logic board” and it will apparently cause a complete data loss (my last back was a month ago; shame on me I know). Has anyone experienced this and recovered their data? Apple M4 laptops are great until they aren’t.
