No, accents are indeed racialised. Black British English was created and popularised by Black British people and anyone taking part in it outside of Blackness are indeed seeking proximity to coolness. I know many non-Black people from endz without Blaccents.

Does anyone know which distributor bought Is God Is for the UK? When is it scheduled for release? I’m so f*ck*ng tired of the UK film industry’s pure unadulterated contempt for anything Black that does not fit their colonising gaze. And before you go there Sinners was a global release from a major. They had no choice! They still managed to find a way to tarnish the film with that unforgivable BAFTA / BBC stunt and bang on and on about how OBAA was better. It was not!
