The Otters have been putting on quite a show in Thurso this week and it’s been wonderful to see so many people captivated by them 🤎
Hopefully they hang around for a while!
A Mother and calf Harbour Porpoise who approached our stationary boat in The Minch. The mother then began logging not too far from us on a number of occasions and the thought is that she was nursing the calf, who still has its fatal folds.
An incredible day out in The Minch yesterday where we saw 7 individual Humpback Whales, some of which were lunge feeding on krill.
What a spectacle 🐋🏴
@whale_nerd It really was quite something to see, the krill also gave us a seconds notice of where the Humpbacks would surface. However because they were shallow feeding, we didn’t get any shots of their flukes. Never thought I’d see a sight like that in Scotland 🏴 🐋
TODAY’s AN ORCA DAY!! Live (ish) ‘back of the camera’ shots from @Theodec97, leading one of two tours we have running today. What scenes for everyone currently enjoying them as they coasted Sumburgh Head to Grutness where they are now, apparently heading north.

It doesn't happen too often, but last night I was in the right place when the mega alert went off to say there was a Brünnich's Guillemot in Scrabster harbour! 10 minutes later I was watching this little Arctic wanderer! Relief after missing the Portland and Anstruther birds!
