Amazing! My grandmother’s mother, we called her Mama dear, was a fierce woman. Her husband, my great grandfather, was a firefighter in New Orleans. He died young, and she worked to support her children. My grandmother, Geraldine, still tells me stories about how (our cousins)…German POWs during WWII, her and Mama Dear would go to port to give them food. At the same time, my great, great uncles were fighting for the U.S. in Europe.

Hi all, sorry for my absence. After months of steady progress, Mum got really sick unexpectedly and things have been very hard. No hospitalisation this time but that was only because we have an oxygen machine at home now and I could nurse her. The paramedics were out 3 times. It has been scary, sad, and absolutely exhausting. Physically, mentally, and emotionally. I just couldn't deal with all the horrors here. The very first story I saw today was about sexual abuse and I am crying already. Mum is improving but the infection is not yet cleared and all her progress has been undone. It is horribly unfairly on her, she had been doing so well, was excited for her rehab course and to be driving again, and a stupid error by the NHS caused this. Sorry again, and thank you from the bottom of my heart to every person speaking up for women's rights, LGB rights, child safety, and all of our freedom of speech, belief, and association. A picture of the sun setting over the 3 Sisters, trees I named for me, Netha, and our other sister. Beautiful skies always make Netha feel close, and I have needed her so much these past weeks.
