New commitments by @PennySharpemlc @ChrisMinnsMP address many major issues enabling ongoing nature loss in NSW, such as the biodiversity offsets scheme - but there are still significant gaps, such as inadequate action to address land clearing. More than two dozen eminent Australian scientists have called on @ausgov to commit significant federal funding towards nature in a whole page ad in @australian. Read their statement here: bit.ly/30by30statement @james_trezise : “There is one simple solution to the extinction crisis – investing in species and habitat recovery. If we invested just 1% of the federal budget in nature, we could stop that decline by 2030. Without it, we will not meet our global commitment”
