NSW biodiversity conservation laws are getting an overhaul. New commitments by @PennySharpemlc@ChrisMinnsMP address many major issues enabling ongoing nature loss in NSW, such as the biodiversity offsets scheme - but there are still significant gaps, such as inadequate action to address land clearing.

More than two dozen eminent Australian scientists have called on @ausgov to commit significant federal funding towards nature in a whole page ad in @australian. If we invested just 1% of the federal budget in nature, we could stop that decline by 2030. Without it, we will not meet our global commitment”
