Today is my last day @VNRCorg. It's been a great 9.5 years. I'm proud to have helped strengthen #VT communities and environment in the legislature, on the ground, in partnerships. I'm thrilled to continue supporting #VT & Vermonters at @VermontCF starting in May. Thank you all!

@_NotA_Bot_ @VtpoliGirl @KStapleton_BTV @JackHansonBTV @tchittenden For what it's worth, land use and development, including zoning, is the purview of the two natural resources committees, but can be reviewed or initiated by housing committees, too. We often lobby on zoning issues. We think it is fun but it usually doesn't make the news!

@VtpoliGirl @KStapleton_BTV @JackHansonBTV @tchittenden I'm curious how much of the issue is just that the legislators have day jobs, and no one is lobbying on zoning issues.
If you look at the vt senate description of the committee in charge of housing, its basically just the miscellaneous category. legislature.vermont.gov/committee/deta…

Winooski's approach of making it much easier to build apartments along bus routes is a good start. Providing access to Burlington's jobs from area's with public transit can reduce the pressure on housing, but we should be careful not to encourage more sprawl.

I just keep coming back to this... couldn't we fight climate change AND the housing crunch by improving our transportation systems? I'm not saying it's the only thing, but it seems like we aren't even trying. #vt #transpo #housing

Take care of your bike and take care of your body! Dirt and road grime will build up on your bike, so make sure you rinse it off and re-lubricate your chain after every few rides (or every ride if you’re ambitious!) #SpringBikeTip

Here's the problem with the idea of "transit-dependent riders": it assumes that our car-oriented transportation system is working fine, and is desirable.
It's not. It's killing our planet, thousands of Americans, and excludes millions from jobs and opportunities. @ReasonFdn
