Sea ice is critical infrastructure in the Far North where roads are scarce & residents travel over the frozen ocean by snowmobile. Climate change is occurring 3x faster here than in the south—and that’s impacting the ice and those who depend on it #unsettledstory

@JenniferYVerma and I are in the research phase of our @CanadaCouncil film project. Is your community working upstream to retrofit, rebuild and adapt to the immediate or emergent effects of climate change? If so, then reach out. Details here— | unsettledstory.com

Kat Frick Miller is a Nova Scotian artist/illustrator, who draws inspiration from the people and landscapes around the Maritimes. She enjoys exploring the cultural history of our communities and sharing bits of those stories with humour and whimsy. ow.ly/4Fen30rKlV9

@NimbusPub This book was seriously one of the big nudges that it was time to make the leap and move to Nova Scotia permanently. It helped us realize that we didn’t want to spend 4 weeks a year in the place we love, and the other 48 wishing we were here. Life’s too short. So here we are!

Hey Twitter! 👋 I'm looking for an Atlantic Canadian illustrator for a kid's book. The manuscript is super sweet (camping! animals! nature!) and needs equally sweet art. Pub date is spring 2022, so only a year to complete (!). Suggestions? 🎨📝

MUST WATCH Dr. Michael Warner walks us through the story of one patient. A woman in her 40s who got Covid. Earlier today he fought to save her life. But before the day ended Covid stole her from us. Please listen to @drmwarner share his anger and heartbreak.

Fisheries and Oceans Canada’s plan to rebuild Atlantic cod is coming under a lot of criticism from experts who say it fails to address overfishing and climate change, while blaming "natural causes" for population decline. Via @JenniferYVerma thenarwhal.ca/atlantic-cod-d…
