It’s been a lovely week in Denver bringing most of the @tidelift team together for another all hands. I continue to be humbled and awed by the amazing people that believe in our vision and passionately work to make it real. So good to see old & new faces in the flesh #startuplife

So glad to be back @monktoberfest. At what other conference do you get to hear about the history of open source breaking the Internet (with Billy Joel), a view of early days of covid from inside an insurance company, and ~ecotoxicology~ helping conservation through a flyathalon?

Today... This is a tragedy. This is not okay. I am sad. I am furious. And I can't find words beyond that right now. 😡 But know that I stand here with you.

This isn’t a role where you’ll be the sole on call but instead more focused on improving some of our setup and being able to help the team learn to be better using databases, how we evolve the tech we use, the resident k8s expert, observability, and more. #devops #hiring

You’d be the first full-time hire for a role like this but we are in a pretty good place as I’ve spent time on it through our history. But we’re reaching a point where the rest of the development team could use someone to lean on, ask questions, and learn from. #devops #hiring

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is, so far, the best Star Trek in 30 years.

@jodansmif I remember that about it. But whether it's from the first time I read it or a later reading it is hard to say... I read it annually for years. Probably due for a re-read. One of my favorite, if not most favorite, books ever.

The Hobbit is surprisingly moving in a few spots. Not something I remembered from my childhood reads. Max didn’t seem to notice though… maybe it’s an age thing?

Definitely the pattern we are trying to help folks embrace with @tidelift by giving the tools you need as an organization to define a catalog of open source dependencies for your applications but also, very importantly, human enhanced data from the creators of that software
steve o'grady@sogrady

the most common example of that behavior these days is the netflix-style 'paved roads,' which is to say an IT-tested and backed core platform which is recommended. if unique requirements force a team off that road, so be it, but then they're on their own for literally everything.

As with all of our roles, this is a remote-first role (US only at this time). I think that what we’re trying to do at Tidelift resonates well with a lot of engineering minded folks and so expect to get to talk with some amazing people as part of the hiring process for this.

In addition to hiring engineers @tidelift, I’m also looking to bring in someone to take on a leadership role on the eng team. You'd have a lot of responsibility around helping individuals on the team grow in their career, growing the team, and maturing our engineering processes
