To this end, Speaker Among directed the Attorney General to compel the Electoral Commission officials to undertake MPs on how the BVVK machines will work.
“Since we are the representatives of the people and we are all stakeholders, can we organise for Electoral Commission to have an interaction with us so that we get to understand what machines do, how they are supposed to be used so that we go out there to tell the people that this is what we will expect at the end of day,” Among said.

Before a clear ruling could be delivered on the matter by government, the Kampala Central MP Muhammad Nsereko demanded that officials at the Electoral Commission create time to demonstrate to legislators through a practical session on how the BVVK machines will be used or work on the polling day early next year. “The electoral commission must come and demonstrate a dry run for us as to how it will handle, because a polling station must have between 300 to 500 people. No specific date of the said training was confirmed as Speaker Among promised that MPs would be notified of the planned date for the engagement with the Electoral Commission through a text messages.
“We are going to discuss with the Electoral Commission and we will send you a message that the Electoral Commission will be available on such and such a day. And [it is up to] you to come, if you don’t come that will be your problem,” Among said.
