Just driven over 100 miles from West to East Wales. Went through four 20mph areas, three took less than a minute to get through,the rest of the journey, 50mph,60mph and national speed limits. Stop listening to the rubbish being spouted about 20mph blanket speed limits in Wales.

TERFs Came 3,300 Years Too Late Gender diversity isn’t new. Hatred of it is. Long before Christianity, Islam or Judaism, or the idea of men and women being fixed categories, ancient civilisations understood that identity and divinity came in many forms. In ancient Egypt, Pharaoh Akhenaten, father of Tutankhamun, made a minor sun god the first one god on Earth more than 3,300 years ago. He believed the divine was both male and female and had himself portrayed that way in every sculpture and carving. Before him, Hatshepsut, one of Egypt’s most successful rulers, reigned as Pharaoh while being depicted as male. Gender was fluid, sacred and powerful. Across Mesopotamia, priests known as the gala served the goddess Inanna and were recorded as gender diverse or non-binary thousands of years before the word “trans” existed. The Hijra community of South Asia is documented for at least 2,000 years and recognised as a spiritual third gender. Ancient Greece and Rome also had deities, rituals and myths that blurred or transcended gender lines. So when people claim gender ideology is new, they are rewriting history. What is actually new is the gender critical movement, which is a rebranding of 20th century fascist pseudoscience. The Nazis destroyed archives, sterilised and murdered trans and intersex people, and banned research from Magnus Hirschfeld’s Institute for Sexual Science in 1933. They called it degenerate. That same rhetoric about biology, purity and protecting women echoes in the language of today’s so-called gender critical activists. TERFs did not invent feminism. They hijacked it. They took a movement for liberation and turned it into a purity test. But the truth is that gender diversity existed before their gods, before their empires and before their hate. Trans and gender diverse people are not a modern trend. They are part of human biology. Every embryo begins along a similar developmental path until genes, hormones and timing guide sex characteristics in different directions. Variations like congenital adrenal hyperplasia and androgen insensitivity syndrome show that sex exists on a natural spectrum, not as two fixed boxes. Neuroimaging studies have shown that many transgender people’s brain structures align more closely with their lived gender than their assigned sex at birth. It is not a mistake or a deviation. Both cisgender and transgender development are natural outcomes of the same biological process, shaped by the same variability that gives humanity its range of skin tones, heights and voices. In other words, being trans is as biological as being cis. The difference lies only in expression, not in legitimacy. The spectrum is older than religion and older than hate.
