My self-esteem is crushed. In town this weekend a woman looked at me, double took, said "oh my fucking god", and started laughing at my face. I took this photo with my friend today and want to love it as I rarely see her, but I am hating the tube on my face 😭

May I interest you in an after work cocktail? Elderflower Manhattan: * 2 oz bourbon * 1 oz elderflower liqueur (I used St Germaine) * .5 oz dry vermouth * 3 dashes angostura bitters Add all to mixing glass w/ ice. Stir to dilute. Strain into chilled coupe. Garnish w/ cherry. 🥃

Does anyone have intimate wedding venues they’d recommend (20 people or less)? It could be anywhere in the world. I care most about the space being beautiful and it can be indoor or outdoor.

@engineering_bae More of a general approach, but if you can pick a place/part of the world you love or have always wanted to visit, you will be able to find elopement specialists for that area. They'll know all the spots and vendors!

There are so many random uses for basic coding skills...I needed a calendar invite for outlook, but don't have a personal account, so I created an ical invite using the python icalendar package in google colab.

@almeezyuh As another vegetarian..I haven't given the protein needs too much thought and my body seems to be doing well. But I'm curious, how do you know you aren't getting enough..is it by tracking or seeing a doctor? Kinda tempted to track it myself now.

@Raamana_ When it comes to admitting mistakes it is much more productive to have the famous do it first.

Who of the famous people in the field would be ready to publicly talk about their non-rigorous research in the past? I think that few people have ever published 10 papers without major rigor issues in at least one of them. Let's normalize talking about rigor.

@kayteeflick @quentinferry1 If you have a chance to check out more modern and state the art machine learning stuff, I recommend Sergey Levine's whole RL course on youtube :) he is a very good explainer.

Everyone said that a PhD is the only way to ensure you work on what you care about. But in my PhD, I didn't even choose my thesis project and now in industry I'm getting paid to learn about RL and read the Sutton and Barto book and I'm literally giddy with how much fun this is.
