I really appreciate @MichaelMaherPhD saying it is unacceptable for anyone to say “they are not a math person” this AM at @ncascd 2024. No one brags about not being about to read. As a state, we have to do something about the flat/lack of progress in student learning in math!

I was in a school last week where students take an elective where all they do is come up with projects that take the learning they are doing in core classes and apply it to the real world. There were some amazing cross-curricular, community-focused projects happening in there.
