Short🧵regarding fascial closure: I had a lot of fun with my 🧵on LOTR last week, but I must now return to my core content. Let us briefly review why it is important to avoid catching too much subcutaneous tissue in our sutures when closing fascia.

Back in Honduras at Hospital Escuela. Preview of a busy week ahead of complex limb salvage including rotational flaps and bone transport. Humbled that the entire residency showed up on a Sunday for triage clinic. instagram.com/p/DJzgQOdyRt-/…

That’s absolute bullshit. She graduated from Stanford and became a MD. During her residency, she decided to go into functional medicine because she saw too many surgeons doing surgery on patients that was unnecessary. All doctors want to do is throw pills at people. The side effects from these prescriptions are often worse than the health problem.

It is so difficult to state adequately what a horrible idea this is in every possible dimension. Anxiety mining is bad enough, but this leads to invasive procedures with nonzero complication rates to work up findings of unknown significance to retrieve data that cannot drive confident decisions that will result in more invasive procedures and drugs with side effects to mitigate the unknown and unknowable risk of inaction on asymptomatic positives.

What's wrong with you? You don't know. You don't know if you're quietly sick. You don't know if there's a creeping time bomb in your body, one that might be detected and prevented by a simple test. But you're busy. You can't spend your time worrying about this stuff! Ideally you just want to get periodically scanned by a set of machines, have them determine what's wrong if anything, and then dispatch treatment accordingly. That's why @PeterAttiaMD and my friend @johnhering founded Biograph, and why I became one of the first investors. The product packages just about every useful biomedical test into a single battery, from blood work to EKGs, from CT scanning to whole body MRI. It integrates all these measurements in an app and tracks them across time, giving a comprehensive overview of known risks for cancer, heart health, metabolic disease, neurological issues, sleep disorders, and more besides. It schedules you for a recurring checkup every six months, and uses both basic baselining and advanced AI to determine whether your results are normal. And it goes live today.

@DrJesseMorse @AlastairMcA30 @MakisMD There is no way you are a real Doctor. So when asked to post any clinical evidence or published human treatment you posted a PROPOSED treatment plan from a journal. Are you stupid?

Ivermectin kills parasites. Febendazole kills worms. Neither has any clinical effect on cancer. What we’re watching here is two idiots spouting off on a topic which they clearly don’t understand. But it will get people killed.
