@Flydog92 @njt55 @CFBChuckk Just because they weren’t caught at the time doesn’t mean they shouldn’t have been ineligible. And for the record I don’t care that OSU or any other team for that matter cheated. But it’s dumb to act like they weren’t cheating

we played players that were eligible at the time of kickoff and then later were ruled retroactively ineligible. again, not cheating. just like the Fab 5 situation. you're familiar right? they shouldn't have any wins vacated for that shit. they were all eligible at the time the games were played. being deemed retroactively ineligible is just a punishment granted well after games are played. the NCAA vacates wins over the wrong shit. they should be vacating games for teams who get caught cheating in actual games and using competitive advantages gained to alter outcomes of said games. like what ichigan football did.

There’s a lot of debate these days about who had the WORST cheating scandal, but the BEST cheating scandal was by far Ohio State. They built a CFB powerhouse on the back of under the table money and paper classes and came away from it completely untouched.

@Flydog92 @njt55 @CFBChuckk You played players that should have been Ineligible because they broke rules that would have made them ineligible. How is that not cheating

sure was, given it being a rule violation. not cheating though. cheating would be if those players were deemed ineligible and we still played those players when we aren't supposed to. cheating would be going to opponents games, filming their signs and plays, and giving that to someone on their teams staff to use against said opponents to know their every move and beat them easily.

@Flydog92 @njt55 @CFBChuckk It was still against the rules to do that. So if Ohio State players were getting paid by Boosters Ohio State would be cheating

since forever given boosters are their own entities. some schools, like a Miami, in the past hired boosters to help get athletes. but boosters otherwise have no connections to schools. not one booster involved with an Ohio State player was contracted or connected in any way to Ohio State.

@Flydog92 @njt55 @CFBChuckk Again you can’t be serious. If you don’t think Ohio State was paying players under the table which would have provided a competitive advantage then idk what to tell you. Thats what the original post was referring to in the first place

Gladly. One of your own says it best (though he’s wrong about how it applies to ichigan) Not all rule violations are cheating. Cheating does, in fact, have to elements. It being a rule violation AND it providing a competitive advantage. Ichigan’s actual cheating provided both. Thus, it’s cheating. Ohio State trading their own personal items for tattoos somehow falls under a rule made when Georgia sold UNIVERSITY PROPERTY online for cash, so they deemed it a rule violation. HOWEVER, doing that provides no competitive advantage on a football field. Players being deemed ineligible well after the games are played (and after the NCAA granted them permission to play) does not magically make a game that already happened suddenly given a competitive advantage for. If they were deemed ineligible before the games, they wouldn’t have played. Now the whole ineligible player thing gets games vacated obviously whether retroactive or not, but it’s a simple rule violation, not cheating due to the fact no competitive advantage was gained. Hope this helps

@njt55 @CFBChuckk Bet. See ya there. Ohio State violated/broke some rules, but never cheated. There is a difference.

@CFBChuckk He tried to use 2023 Michigan as another example like it didn’t have the biggest game of the season on that schedule
