@MrsCathComedy Yes. This was my exact experience until almost a year ago. The spiritual dryness was 5 years long.

Anyone else deal with dryness or spiritual desolation for years? Like you're doing everything out of obedience or logic but feel very little or no consolations in the process? Makes attending Sunday Mass super difficult. I still go but the temptation to skip is immense.

@rileymccatholic My toddler whipped it out and peed in the yard during family photos once. I was so mortified, but the photographer was a friend from church with 5 kids so she just laughed

Is it worth being part of a forum, where Eastern Rite Catholics (an admin!) too often post this sort of biting remark? “I don’t understand the preoccupation with Sheen and his cosplaying as a Byzantine bishop.” There is definitely a Byzantine Catholic equivalent of orthobros.

@RachelTheGentle @Sissa2308 The sun part is huge. Stand outside in sunlight and let that light hit your eyeballs every morning, preferably before looking at a screen. Keep curtains open in the daytime and sit in rays of sun that come through onto your couch/chair like a cat

Are you more of a one book at a time reader or a 6-7 books simultaneously reader? I work on multiple at once I guess because I have too many interests

@JoquedoQ @waterfowlfnp I know exactly what you mean. I didn’t read for years after my Literature degree because I was so burned out. After a couple years I was able to ease back in and it was nice not to have deadlines and to get to choose what to read 😂
