@jzulgad @AJ_FREDRICKSON I’m sorry Judd and AJ. 😔 So sad. Peace to you both and to Jessi’s husband and family. RIP Jessi. I’ll miss your enthusiasm and energy.

“Before you play the game…fine-tune your heart, mind and soul.” Many athletes are restricted through pressure, comparison, fear, and emotion. BEST GAME helps athletes take control of heart, mind, and soul—so performance becomes a byproduct.

The example of Jesus was not weakness. He faced rejection, opposition, and suffering w/o backing down. That kind of courage teaches: *stand for what's honorable *compete with conviction *calm in chaos *controlled emotions and actions That's competitive composure, not softness.

@CoachDanCasey That’s why allowing mature upperclassmen to come alongside the younger can be real beneficial. It’s a double win.

"If you follow Jesus, you're soft." Jesus called his people to deny themselves & take up their cross. That's not soft. That translates into: *daily discipline *train when you don’t feel like it *team before ego These are the traits coaches desire in elite competitors.

@CTmagazine I had the pleasure, along with others, to spend a day and a half with him. Human beings on this earth lost a great man. I tried to soak up as much as I could in our time with him. #LetJusticeRollDown

"Playing for Jesus means you're soft." Following Jesus-your identity is secure before the game begins. Because: You can play fearlessly You can handle failure without collapsing You can stay confident without arrogance It's the opposite of soft—it’s a challenge to play this way

"If you follow Jesus you're soft." Jesus calls people to control anger, ego, and fear. That takes heart strength. Athletes train their bodies. Fewer train their heart & soul. Playing w/ humility, integrity & self-control under pressure is grit & toughness at a higher level.

Most important part of winning is joy. You can win without joy but winning that’s joyless is like eating in a 4 star restaurant when not hungry. Joy is a current of energy in your body, like sunlight that fills you up and makes you naturally want to do your best. Bill Russell

BEST GAME APPROACH: When fear rises — speak truth. When adversity hits — speak resilience. When doubt whispers — speak to your identity. Words rewire our environment. Even HOF's need affirmation. Jackie Smith drops a potential game-tying touchdown pass in Super Bowl loss.

@BrandonMileski Agree 100% on all your takes on medals, etc. As a former HC, you’ve got a great perspective. Appreciate it.

“God breathed and the universe began.” Breath is a gift. Inhale for 4 seconds, then exhale for 4. Do it two more times. Did anything change? You just accessed one of God’s built-in performance tools. Breath.

50 years ago tonight, I would argue that our HS hockey team played in the state championship game. The team that would win went on and won it. Congrats to GRHS Hockey & Jim Jetland, who stood on his head and beat JFK. Sad to say JFK no longer has hockey. #TakeItToTheLimit

@thorku Tice never gets props he deserves. He was a smart coach who wanted smart players. Never got the chance to spend money. @DWolfsonKSTP Hits it right. Gotta love a team player like Rob B.

Jesus gives peace and He left peace. And peace isn’t passive. As an athlete, when do you feel most calm? After practice? After reps? After film? Peace comes from preparation. Spiritually, it’s very similar. Coaches have more peace at the end of games after this play in 1978.
