@swkenny Thanks much, Sean, and also to Ed for his work. Stefanie never got the truth, as Maestri took it to his grave in Jan 2021. Stefanie died ten months later. The power of belief defines the human condition. Facts don't matter, they never did. Sad yet astounding in how we press on.

My essay on the joy of walking uphill, alone, on skis. Which is also a reflection on growing old. #more-31228" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">wildsnow.com/31228/backscra…

@net_benji Heyhey! Thanks for this, blast from the past for sure. I had to watch for a few seconds (before cringing at myself, ha) to jar my memory. Indeed, writing that book was a helluva journey! Thanks, hope you're well.

@kcordes Hey! I just listened to this old interview from when your book initially came out youtu.be/pqDK1pIiReY I think you had to be really passionate to dedicate yourself to such a project but at the same time, you came off as really laid back and humble in the interview. Hats off!

Socially distant storytime: I'm reading my book, The Tower, cover-to-cover, over the next 16 days. Episodes are free, no ads, no bullshit, but you get what you pay for. Climbers are bored, and I'm no threat to professional narrators. kellycordes.com/book/audio-boo…

@SuburbanMtnr @kcordes Still working on THE TOWER? I just followed it up with Enormocast #6: Hayden Kennedy. It’s nuts.

Reading @kcordes THE TOWER tonight (uncharacteristically on an iPad because I couldn’t stomach the couple days’ shipping wait once I heard about it).
Beyond being five or six interlocking amazing stories, it’s just really great writing. I liked this line very much.

@JDMabie Ah, cool (I’m a little slow on social media :) — so glad ya like it. Was an ungodly amount of work, so especially nice to see the good words. Thank you!

@EveningSends @enormocast Basis for Sly’s character in Cliffhanger, no doubt. And probably Rambo, too.

@enormocast Fair enough, dude, and challenge taken: I’m refining the world’s finest margarita recipe and reading a book. (You’re welcome for thanking me for my sacrifice.)

The best films from @BanffMtnFest, in my completely biased and highly judgmental opinion. I have zero tolerance for bro-hucks-cliffs-on-loop music videos disguised as films, but Banff delivers. outsideonline.com/2382091/best-a…

My review in @outsidemagazine of the new documentary The Weight of Water, which premiered at the @BanffMtnFest. Layered in ways that force us to consider human qualities deeper than sight. Nice going, @ErikWeihenmayer @SeracFilms outsideonline.com/2369306/weight…

@SuburbanMtnr Thanks man! Yeah, hearing that from Jack when I was a younger climber had a significant impact. It’s a great image, too, of those guys coming up with that first “rule.”

Fascinating, resonant article in the @nytimes. History repeats on endless loop, the themes always easy to spot in others. When powerful emotions arise, evidence is no match for belief.
