Admiral Alvin Holsey, 37-year Navy veteran and first Black commander of U.S. Southern Command, resigned after clashing with Trump & Hegseth over controversial Caribbean boat strikes. Another leader choosing principle over silence.

Retired 4-star admiral and former Navy SEAL William H. McRaven—the man who oversaw the mission that killed Osama bin Laden—delivered a blistering assessment of President Donald Trump. McRaven’s comments stood out not just for how direct they were, but for who they came from: a highly respected military leader warning about leadership, unity, and America’s standing in the world.

Taking Alberta Forward, We Stand With #Canada!
Alberta separatists say it's about pipelines & prosperity, but Cole Bennett exposes the truth: it's pushing extreme ideology—banning abortion, gay marriage, division—while hiding behind the economy. James Talarico puts it perfectly: 'The biggest divide in our politics is not left vs right—it's top vs bottom. Billionaires are dividing us because our unity is a threat to their wealth and power.' Stop fighting each other. The real threat is up top. #Alberta #Canada #UnityOverDivision

Restoring Your Faith in Humanity
A Polish dance group, Fair Play Crew, drew global attention by recreating on stage the stiff and synchronized movements of 1980s fighting video games, such as the classic International Karate. I've seen this so many times, still cracks me up 😂

On the MV Coho heading to Victoria, BC. Gorgeous day! It cost $46 for a round trip ticket for walk ons. About a 90 minute trip. What a bargain! Love you ❤️

Wu Tang is for the Children
Of course MAGAs are now mad at HBO and threatening to boycott because, let me check my notes, the show "The Pitt" portrayed a very realistic scene of ICE Nazis kidnapping a patient in the ER and arresting a doctor saying the show demonized ICE agents 🙄

At the Salvador Allende hospital in Havana today, when the Puerto Rican delegation brought their huge suitcases of medicine in. The entire U.S. government didn't want this to happen, and the activists made sure Cuban doctors would get supplies anyway. Incredible people.

No sector has been hit harder by unfair US trade than forestry, just look at the duties & tariffs on our softwood lumber. If we can back auto & steel, we can back forestry. I’m heading to Ottawa to build powerful partnerships that will deliver for forestry workers. #cdnpoli

I have a friend in Cuba and what they just reported should end careers in Washington. Every single patient on a ventilator in their hospital died tonight. The power went out. The ventilators stopped. This isn't a rare incident anymore. Cuba's grid has collapsed 3 times THIS MONTH. The hospital staff told them they've had more emergency deaths in the last 30 days than in all of last year combined. A patient with leukemia at a Havana hospital told reporters: "Without fuel or affordable transportation, life has only gotten harder. We are fighting every day." NICU babies are on bare minimum power right now. Dialysis patients are playing Russian roulette with every blackout. Cuba has received ZERO oil in 3 months. That's not a shortage. That's a blockade. The US blocked a Russian rescue mission — 730,000 barrels of oil heading to Cuba — turned it away. Then the official story went: "We're sending $6 million in humanitarian aid." $6 million in aid. 930,000 barrels of oil blocked. You can't fix ventilators with $6 million when the grid is dark. And Trump's own words from March 6, 2026: "Cuba will fall. After 50 years, this is the cherry on top of the cake." The people dying in hospitals tonight are his cherry on top. I'll keep you updated. Turn on notifications. 🚨

I remind Canadians never take medical advice from politicians. You define emergencies - not them. The ER is there for that. I'm constantly reminded by the il-advice of Ontario Premier Ford who said in 2025 "Do not go to the emergency department for a sore throat" 👇👇👇 Some of the cases I have seen with a "sore throat" include acute leukemia. Yes - an acute widespread cancer needing urgent treatment. With a sore throat that didn't get better with antibiotics. Other cases are serious infections of the throat like retropharnygeal abscess - a serious infection behind the throat. Another case was epiglotitis which can be an airway emergency. I have had these cases of "sore throat" where I'm on the phone STAT to anesthesiology to consider placing an airway in the operating room. One case was Ludwig's angina which is a devastating infection of the floor of the mouth needing the airway secured in the operating room. ER doctors like have taken such patients to the OR directly and prepared to do an emergency surgical airway along the way. Other "sore throats" have been a peritonsillar abscess needing myself or a surgeon to drain the abscess in the ER. Other cases are solid head and neck cancers coming in with "just a sore throat" but needing chemotherapy and radiation. The lesson is the same over and over again. If you know very little or nothing about medicine - a sore throat is just a sore throat. But if you have training, experience and a dash of humility - you don't put your foot in your mouth and give uneducated medical advice potentially jeopardizing the health of others. Don't take medical advice from politicians. The public defines an emergency. Not doctors or nurses and definitely not politicians. Thanks for reading this.

I see a bit of a "math struggle" in some of the comments. So let me help clear the air. Total MAID Cases: 16,499 (5.1% of all deaths) Track 1 (Terminal): 15,767 (95.6% of cases) Track 2 (Chronic): 732 (4.4% of cases) Mental Illness (Sole): ZERO (0%) Minors/Kids: ZERO (0%) To be clear: Under Bill C-62, it is currently ILLEGAL in Canada to receive MAID for "seasonal depression" or any mental illness as a sole condition. Furthermore, MAID is strictly limited to adults 18+. We can debate the ethics of the policy, but we can't debate the law. Accuracy matters. Source: Health Canada 6th Annual Report (Nov 2025)
