What I think we really need is reading residencies. You apply with lists of books you want to read & what books mean to you. And the residencies provide libraries, meals, quiet time & space, just to get caught up on your TBR & to discover new books & to hang with fellow readers.

1/ Two proposed Indiana bills (HB1179 & SB202) would drastically curtail academic freedom by enshrining political oversight of syllabi & diversity issues & empowers Boards of Trustees to influence/deny tenure, & fire fac who don't adhere to ideological stipulations of the bill.
