Dear Mark. I assume you are a Saltzman, founders of Dischem. I do not know who your mother is. I have taken NO MONEY from her. The @Dischem Foundation supported good causes led by my previous employer @Radio702 . They also sponsored the Brain of 702. It was a partnership with a commercial radio station. Did your mother want our souls in return?Did your family think that was money coming to me personally? What money did your mother give ME, Redi? And when did I meet with her? Is this what you discuss at family dinners? I am a big customer at Dischem and I assumed like any moral corporate citizen, the Foundation was set up for good deeds, not as a form of blackmail. Perhaps @Dischem foundation should have made it clear to 702 management all those years that it supported good courses in return for MY obedience and silence on Israel's atrocities and war crimes. I'd have told them to go fuck themselves. And unless you and your mother can prove here, publicly, that I, Redihentse Tlhabi, took money from her, then you can also go fuck yourselves. And why is everything about money?

Rob Bentele shares the story of his Australian father and a Black woman mother. He says his father was a young Austrian man, his dad was back packer traveling the globe. He met his mom in the rural areas of Matubatuba called eMakhambane. He paid Lobola in 1986, they got married and lived in a Caravan at their family homestead. His sister and him were born into true rural Zulu culture. Eventually, they moved to Empangeni but they still would go home every chance they got.

Thanks - IIRC we won and held the silver for 4 years before the US doping ban had us elevated to the gold. It was a strange feeling, receiving that after the Athens Olympics. I don't feel like we ever had enough quality athletes to truly push each other. We're seeing records - national and continental, even world - more often, and we've managed to edge Canada, Olympic champions, fairly easily even without Dambile and Walaza being fit. A lot more young athletes coming through and there are a lot more opportunities to hone their craft. We also get to see them develop - and if we do, so do coaches who might not otherwise be hanging around a track. Just have to get that balance right between reasonable expectation and undue pressure. I also wonder if Akani, amongst everything else he has done (and while I want medals for him, this will always mean more), set the trend for athletes to remain at home for training. Around the same time, swimmers chose to do the same thing and we have home grown swimmers as well as athletes being our standout performers. I got into an awkward spot with that comment with a particular gold medallist who did no stay, but it's all about the choice. You can't fault those who stuck around and perhaps it's a "what if" thing for older Olympians. That's turning into a tangent, though. I'm just proud of the attitude of the entire team - possibly another positive to spending time together - and their genuine happiness. I only hope this is the mark of an era free of any off court/track/field and out of pool drama, touch wood. No administrative nightmares - I believe we've had our fair share for a while.

@KelRo736 I enjoyed reading your post. Took me back when we'd have a couple decent sprinters, who'd bomb at majors. Remember the 2001 gold we won at the World Champs in Canada? We flattered to deceive back then. Now we have a solid crop.

After two years of genocide in my life, I came out of it psychologically broken. I never hesitated for a moment to continue my studies because I believe they are my life. That’s why I’m asking for your help now to become a doctor and a role model for doctors in Palestine. I need your support to cover my university fees, otherwise all my hard work in studying will be wasted. Please share and help. chuffed.org/project/165929

If Zionists in SA think they can silence freedom of expression, they must know that we will take them on. Houghton Golf Club in JHb just got a wake-up call. The wanted to ban someone who had a Palestinian flag on his car. SA supports an independent Palestinian state. Period.

My Dad just died. He was older than the state of “Israel.” And he fought until the very end. He made me who I am. And I am writing this post to celebrate that. open.substack.com/pub/raniakhale…
