@larsga Grapes is not exactly a beer destination, but is a nice pub. Fagan's also a good shout, they often have trad Irish music sessions

In Sheffield for a few days off. Before I went people were asking me why, and after an hour or so walking around the city center I’m wondering the same.

After years in this business, I'm pretty hardened. I've seen many horrors. But watching people being burned alive last night, stretching out their hands for help. A man in a hospital bed with an IV attached going up in flames. It felt like a new horror, akin to a vision of hell.

@steinkobbe @Very__Regular I think some famous British racist once made a video about being happy taking recipes, just not people .

@Very__Regular I've told this before on here but a classic moment in Norwegian racism was this leader of a racist group posted on Facebook that they need to stop eating kebabs and go back to Norwegian street food, and the members responded like "it doesn't make me less racist that I eat kebab"

@MichaelAodhan Well done, Aodhán. Enjoyed the surprise of bumping into you at registration. I also had a bizarre time for the last 100m!

@tomhatton1 Agree. Extremely complicated issue. I'm very lightly in favour of assisted dying in theory, but think there are very serious issues (see Canadian implementation) that mean it might not be feasible to do safely in practice.

This would be a huge story if it was a Tory MP and it shouldn’t be buried because it’s a Labour MP at fault. I hope it’s on BBC broadcast as well as online… bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

@melialfp @ClwydEnComu Isn't poblacht the Irish word? And one which was rather famously in use five years prior to this supposed discussion?

@ClwydEnComu On the discussion though of Irish not having a native word for 'Republic', always found it an unserious debate. If we want to be pedantic, republic is certainly not an Anglosaxon word. LG pulled a good psy op in the heat of the moment but it's not a serious linguistic point
