@doctimcook @BJAJournals How do you know what 50% pogo is if you can't see 100% to compare to is just a numerical surrogate for all, a fair bit, not much or none of glottis. There's a reason nobody has used it for the last 20years
English

The VCI score isn’t new (2021) and isn’t especially appealing.
It is both superficial (what adjunct did you use with your blade, what size, why was intubation difficult and what did you do) and misses essential information about laryngeal views because it uses rubbish tool in that regard.
For me POGO = NOGO
(“NOt a lot GOing on”)
Ok that’s harsh ….
But it exclusively categorises laryngeal views that should be intubatable.
Yes POGO <10% might be harder than POGO 90% but the only real interest is in POGO 0%
I suspect POGO has appeal as it sounds good.
There is merit in exploring the extent to which a low POGO is associated with tricky intubation but whether POGO is -0”%, 70%, 55% or 33%…. who cares?

Introducing the #VCIscore: a reliable, standardised tool for reporting #videolaryngoscopy-assisted #trachealintubation. High inter-rater agreement means better data and safer care.

@PortyGeoff @unionjackspirit @premierleague True. Which is why people dislike ostentatious shows of religion from the overly pious, least tolerant Muslims. No problem with private religion in progressives.
English

@unionjackspirit @premierleague Unfortunately for your point of view British and Proud, the fact is that Britain is a secular country. The majority of the population follow no religion. That is because all religions are just myth and superstition used to control people. There are no Gods.
English

Sort it out! @premierleague.
Britain is a Christian country.
What happened yesterday was wrong and shouldn’t happen again.

@inkwakuzi_ Maybe he should concentrate on learning first touch and how to tackle properly before learning gamesmanship. Either that or prepare to get an elbow to the face in the next wee while.
English

@RCoANews Hmm, weak move. While there is undoubtedly some dubious content on X the scientific content remain a great advance in reaching clinicians. And all the big news outlets still post. Smells of approving censorship.

We have stopped posting on X.

@MTWnhs Ask the trust CEO if they're happy to have an anesthetic from an AA...

@WestJet @jrespoir6 6 extra seats on a 25 row aircraft= 4%. Sounds like you lose more than 4% of customers with this nonsense
English

Hi there. Thank you for reaching out. The video shared is of one of our newly reconfigured aircraft. Previously, this aircraft operated with an all-economy cabin layout.
WestJet pioneered making air travel available to more Canadian, through our ability to keep costs low and to offer affordable airfares – to continue to do so, we need to try new products, these aircraft accommodate an extra row by varying seat pitch between 38 and 28 inches. These pitches are in line with what you’ll find across North American airlines.
We have 21 aircraft in this configuration at this time. We are closely monitoring guest and employee feedback to assess the product’s performance, comfort and suitability, while ensuring our unwavering commitment to safety remains at the forefront of every decision we make.
Because safety is so important to us, it’s worth noting as part of the reconfiguration, the aircraft underwent an extensive safety and certification process. All modifications were completed in accordance with Transport Canada’s rigorous airworthiness standards and WestJet’s own high internal safety requirements.

@DrHuw I remember a larger than life member of our dept, educator, president of national bodies, training program colossus. Came back to visit 2y after retirement and nobody knew them. We are replaceable not matter how much value we try to add. Hence look after patients AND yourself

I’m at the same point now in my career where I want to be left alone to do my job & then go home
QIPs & policies, managerial roles, doing extra? I want none if it
Give anaesthetics well then get home to my kids, my wife, my dog, gym, hobbies, friends. The things that I love

I’m at the point now with my career where I don’t care about anything other than doing my job and then going home. Making improvements, wanting credit, doing extra? I want none of it. All I want is to do my job well then get home to my kids, my wife, my gym, my hobbies, my church. The things that I love Some call it being in a rut. I call it prioritizing my energy toward the things that really matter to me. I’ve been around long enough to see that companies in the grand scheme of things don’t care about you or your contributions. It’s all about the bottom line.
English

@ibroxrocks Just shows how every transfer every position has been a more expensive downgrade for since Seville. And means the team aren't dominant enough to bring young talent into.
English

@clairebubblepop It's likely both, they're not mutually exclusive. What if the availability of cheap immigrant labor is keeping profits high for the billionaire and the poor old tax payer is paying for all the healthcare, education, and societal costs of the immigrants.
English

Said this before but I’ll say it again. Just one lifetime ago in the UK, our grandparents/parents could buy a home, buy a car, have 3 to 4 children, take annual vacations, and then retire… all on one middle-class salary. What happened?
We had same day GP, ambulances within minutes, dentists, good education, decent public transport, clean river and beaches. So AGAIN WTF happened?
You keep blaming migrants but we’ve had migrants for centuries. The only difference is now is the top 1% of billionaires, are now worth the same as the bottom 90%. Don’t you get it? THEY are the reason we are poorer and can no longer achieve what our parents did. NOT freaking migrants or the poor. Fuck my life… you get me?
English

@TheSnoozeDoctor "Several anesthetics have been delivered safely". Sigh. It must be safe then. What utter anecdotal nonsense. A paramedic failing to intubate someone who's dying anyway is quite different to failing to intubate someone you've decided to give anesthetic drugs to.

@johngoddard Hearing different languages on a train isn’t a crisis. It’s literally what happens in a modern country. The only “problem” here is pretending diversity is an attack.

@TheMMABruh @RangersFC @CyrielDessers Exactly. Despite his failings we'll miss a 20+goal a season striker. Be careful what you wish for

We can today confirm the departure of Cyriel Dessers to Panathinaikos for an undisclosed fee.
Everyone at the club thanks @CyrielDessers for his contribution during his time in Glasgow, and we wish him well for the future.

@alanhowat72 locals just don't like the way their towns are changing. And want someone to acknowledge their concerns and not jail them for voicing an opinion. expecting politicians of any party to do what they say is too much to ask for, and these pricks are just trying to get re-elected.
English

@alanhowat72 Thing is these pricks actually want lots of immigration (people who'll work for minimum wage), suppress wages, and maximize profits. Don't mention who's won the big migrant hotel contracts. But id hazard a guess there's a fair overlap with the PPE chancers.
