First land-based desalination plant in Washington State too. We used to gave a cabin there - high functioning for non ferry-served island.

@shanselman @vyrotek @CalebChamberla6 Agree completely- went through the hassle of getting CGM prescribed and covered by insurance, did it for a couple of months and learned exactly that.

I’ve been on a CGM since they were invented, and I created the first portable glucose system in the 90s on a palm pilot. Here is a part you’re not gonna wanna hear - if you’re not a diabetic, you don’t need a continuous glucose meter. You’re not gonna learn anything. There is no glucose spike when you eat this or that - you’re normally blood sugared person. A normal person’s blood sugar can go as high as 150 or more for minutes at a time after eating pizza or sugared soda. This is not unique. They will happily sell you a meter, and they will happily take hundreds of your dollars, and they will also stretch the Y axis to make it look like your blood sugar “spikes to 120 when you eat grapes.” then you’ll say I learned so much about my body and what happens when I eat this or that or the other thing. But that’s what a normal pancreas does. I haven’t had a working pancreas for almost 35 years. Enjoy the pancreas you have and there’s absolutely nothing that you’re gonna learn from a continuous glucose meter unless you are either a type one or a type two diabetic, or you’re a prediabetic with a genetic disposition and your doctor recommends it. I apologize for the rant, but they are selling continuous blood sugar meters to humans that don’t need them when there are actual diabetics that do. All that said that Dexcom Stello will do what you want

Anyone had a good experience with a continuous glucose monitor? My phone is an Google Pixel. I'm not a diabetic, but I love data and would like to see how food and exercise affects my glucose. Reading reviews of common sensors/apps, it seems hit and miss.

@FairweatherPhD @Richard_Florida @maiamindel Disagree - one can own more than one property (not house) without being landlord, more importantly there is a long established history of retirees “cashing out” and moving to a less expensive area (which eventually rises as well). Put yourself in the path of progress.

@maiamindel It doesn't even make sense that homeowners should want home values to rise, because if they sell, they still need a place to live. Rising home values only benefit landlords. For everyone else it's money illusion.

The fundamental problem that causes all other problems is that housing being affordable and homewonership being universal is not at all compatible with everyone's house growing in value permanently
