Sri Lanka electricity tariffs to rise from April 1. The Public Utilities Commission has announced an increase in electricity rates effective April 1. 🔹 Up to 30 units – 4.3% 🔹 31–60 units – 6.9% 🔹 61–90 units – 6.9% 🔹 91–180 units – 7.2% 🔹 Above 180 units – 25%



If your electricity bill was Rs. 13,920 (300 units), it will increase to around Rs. 17,220 under the new tariffs approved for Q2 2026 — an increase of about Rs. 3,300. Consumers using above 180 units face the steepest increase of around 25% under the new PUCSL revision. ⚡
