“I’ve lived here my whole life and...have never been up here until 2020.” @PaulMiles840's search for a new place to walk led him to our historic Crescent Hill Reservoir and Gatehouse. Since then, he's captured breathtaking photos of it. Full gallery: bit.ly/3RLbYix

Know the source of your drinking water? Today, more than 75 billion gallons of Ohio River water will flow by Louisville. That river is an amazing source and @louisvillewater turns it into some of the highest quality drinking water. That’s why it’s important to #ProtectTheSource.

More than 2,400 name badges lined up for Virginia’s @WaterJAM_VA conference. Impressive program for these water professionals.

English

Here’s a great example of a drinking water provider engaging with the public. Arriving in Virginia Beach for @WaterJAM_VA and see this on the boardwalk: a taste test where you compare bottled water to the taste of Virginia Beach’s tap water. Nice outreach! #branding

Curious friends at the @NACWA meeting want to know why there’s a Louisville Water ornamental sign inside the Omni hotel. 🤔Answer: it’s the site of our original 1860 office building. Check out the rooftop pool- it’s named The Water Company.

English

A message to my @NACWA friends coming to Louisville for your board meeting, #DrinkLikeALocal. You’re coming to the place with the best-tasting tap water. Enjoy it straight or on the rocks with our other signature beverage. 💧 🥃

Not as many #Catalyst2023 journal notes this year but each element that made it means something important to me personally and in the end, will help me be a better leader. Thank you @RogueWaterLab @H2corsO
for helping me grow once again this year.

@h2oFinance @theindicator @arelkhattabi We planned and financed for the meter upgrades. But for small utilities, if given the choice between a multimillion spend for water mains or meters, I suspect most would choose the pipes. It’s yet another example of the need for regionalization in our industry.
English

@h2oFinance @theindicator @arelkhattabi In Louisville, we’re 3/4 done with meter upgrades and the benefits to our customers and us are there: real-time usage alerts, a transition to monthly billing & improved safety for our employees.
English

#Water #infrastructure media Friday! Great podcast from @theindicator on household water waste and the financial DISincentives many utilities have to address it. Also exciting to hear @arelkhattabi interviewed! npr.org/2023/06/15/118…

@travisloop @MPTeodoro Agree 💯. There has to be an intentional focus on taste since many of the attributes are not regulated. Taste equals perception. And that first perception leads to trust.
English

In a recent talk with @MPTeodoro, he told me about the role of taste in public trust for tap water. (bit.ly/TapDistrust)
This algae is a challenge for a utility, but if water smells and tastes funny it drives distrust. Saying it's safe isn't enough.

A water tasting for my friends on the @WEForg board. We sampled four kinds of water in a conversation about branding, public trust and the value of communications. Thanks for inviting me to share the @louisvillewater story. #WaterStory #branding
