@john_keim Fine pickup. Let's add B-Rob back as power option.

Thinking about the 7th pick based on the Commanders’ FA haul so far: Less likely: Edge (Bailey, Reese) More likely: RB Love, WR (Tate, Lemon) Mostly unchanged quality options: ILB Styles, S Downs Over last 3 days, WR and RB have been solidified as growing, significant needs.

On video wrapping up the start of free agency. Commanders with key additions: another pass rusher, a weapon for Jayden Daniels. The D has added a lot of speed. More. @espnrichmond youtu.be/PL-GaJUeb4w

@Tiller56 Is Tate really a tantalizing WR prospect? The defensive talent available at 7 seems much better.

Do you feel this would be an acceptable WR corps for the Commanders heading into 2026? X - Terry Z - Tate or Tyson (pick #7) Slot - Aiyuk Reserves: Burks McCaffrey Lane

@john_keim How is Aiyuk's health? I think the attitude can be dealt with in the DC locker room.

Wash knows how much Aiyuk wants to play here and with good friend Jayden Daniels. Aiyuk Has been working out. Peters of course was in SF. So they have insight into Aiyuk. Ideally under 10 mil on the 1 year. We’ll see.
Nick Wagoner@nwagoner

With the new league year set to begin today, the #49ers plan to release WR Brandon Aiyuk. Could happen as soon as today, but certainly soon. Washington is the most likely landing spot for Aiyuk, probably on a one-year prove it deal. SF is expected to use post June 1 designation, which is why they had to wait until new league year begins. Dead cap numbers, per OverTheCap: 2026 - $13.325 million 2027 - $21.247 million SF will also get a credit of $4.987 million toward the 2027 cap. The Niners, of course, will save significant amounts in future years by getting Aiyuk off the books.

@granthpaulsen Nah, it’s got to best player available approach. Need plenty of young, fast, talent. Chaisson is only a one year deal anyway.

With two new edges signed and paid well, I think you can expect the Commanders not to draft another one at pick 7. My guess is they spent the money they did at the position thinking Bailey and Reese would both be gone. Styles 📈 Downs 📈 Love 📈 WRs 📈

Washington has agreed to a one-year deal with K'Lavon Chaisson per @RapSheet... @JFowlerESPN had mentioned this potential move last night. It provides Washington with another edge rusher, fortifying a position of need. Odafe Oweh agreed to a deal Monday.

The Commanders added a key part for Daronte Jones' defense by agreeing to a three-year deal with Leo Chenal. He's considered a strong blitzer with good range, two traits that will help Washington's defense.

Trying to stay positive here… Washington has: -young TE - we didn’t use him - young WRs - we barely used them -young LBs - we barely used them -young RB… who needs to be used MORE Washington didn’t have: -young impact EDGE - we signed one -young CB3 - we signed one Is this what we are all missing?

@Tiller56 Lloyd was mid for four years and one good season. Quay Walker or Tremaine Edwards would have been nice Wagner replacements.

I’m keeping the faith today, but it’s getting tough to do, especially watching all these off-the-ball linebacker sign with different teams yesterday while AP was taking a nap. The Lloyd signing really got me. He was the best of this group and was affordable.

The big one that got away from Washington was WR Alec Pierce, but the Colts re-signed. Do believe he would have been here but...he never came free so he's not. As for Jaelen Phillips, @AdamSchefter reported Wash and the Eagles were outbid by Carolina.

@JoshuaBRobbins That’s terrible news. I was/am hoping they are doing another flip. He’s old, fragile, and fading fast.

With this trade centered around Anthony Davis, the Washington Wizards are envisioning a frontcourt of Davis, Alex Sarr and Bilal Coulibaly -- a frontcourt that they think can be one of the best defensive frontcourts in the league. I'm told this deal "came out of left field."

If you want to say this woman's death is a tragedy, that we should pray for her soul as Christians and Americans, then I agree with you. But the media dishonesty about this officer is an all-time moment in shameless press propaganda. Does this law enforcement officer have a family? Yes. Did he he get seriously injured by a vehicle just six months ago? Yes. Did he have reason to fear for his life? Yes. Does he have every right to safety while he's doing his job? Yes. I want our law enforcement officers to do their jobs and come home safely to their family. If you don't like the immigration policy of the Trump administration, attack me. Leave our law enforcement alone. And it's time for the press to finally tell the truth about this story. x.com/rapidresponse4…

Here’s the thing. Beating he Eagles backups does nothing for this culture or program. The coaches and players put in never ending hours. They should want to win. Staffers and team folks should be thrilled. But that is different than if it’s best for 2026 and beyond. It isn’t. Pick 5 is immensely more valuable. So yes, the folks on the sideline and on the field are doing what they should do. Leave it all out there. Have one more fun locker room breakdown. But this win — against an entire second string group — led by a QB who is almost 40 doesn’t do enough good to counter the two draft spots you lose.
