TIL That Automattic P2 has a neat new feature! Last year they added nearly invisible watermarks which are unique to each employee. Cool, cool, cool. Other collaboration platforms have it. But... they didn't announce it. For a place where communication = oxygen they've become rather oxygen starved. While @photomatt is busy trying to spin that these ~280 lost jobs today because of performance issues... I can tell you that's absolutely true. **His performance/incompetence** The # of brilliant, hard working, and talented people who were kicked to the curb today is staggering.

Who's going to tell him? Okay. I will. The iPhone was underwhelming until the app store launched. So yeah, app makers are actually a big part of the success of the iPhone and Apple. Let me take your metaphor for a spin. You found an abandoned plot of land (cafelog/b2) and you cleared the weeds and you got grants and a loan to run some electric and plumbing to the land. You invited others to pitch tents, plant flowers, fruits, and vegetables, graze animals, build storefronts, malls, and eventually build sky scrapers on it. That land is a lot more valuable now because it's been developed. But who did the work? #wpdrama #wordpressterrorism
