Having built my businesses from 0 to over 10 million... This is your PSA that you are not crazy, and this gig is a lot harder than anyone ever could put in words to warn you. Levels of difficulty based on revenue stages: 0-100k: Holy hell what the F did I get myself into?? This is torture. 100-250k: This is terrifying. Every day is a rollercoaster from "I’m winning at life" to "Am I going to make it?" 250-500k: Umm can I just go back to a few one-to-one clients? I don’t know about this whole team thing. Why is everything so damn expensive? 500k-1,000,000: I don’t know if I’m cut out for this. Should I just get a job at a coffee shop? 1 million-3 million: Moments of sheer joy. Making more money than I ever did in a day... Coupled with days where I am convinced I will lose it all and end up homeless. 3 million-10 million: We are a real company now! Look at us go! This is amazing! Coupled with non-stop insurance, legal, banking, HR, and client issues -- enough to make you lose your mind. But then you remember you didn’t come this far just to come this far. 10 million & above: My team is amazing. We are killing it! This is unreal. Coupled with… sleepless nights about how to keep the customers, how to keep the team, and how to keep the company together and humming. The highs get higher and the lows get even lower as you grow. It never gets easier, but you get stronger. PLAY. THE. LONG. GAME. Breathe deep. Exercise often. Pray about everything. Blame no one. Trust that things are always working out for your highest good. You've got this!!!!

Resist the urge once you finally get something working to immediately want to tackle something new. Oftentimes entrepreneurs sabotage their own success by manufacturing chaos because building is boring. Entrepreneurship is not glamorous BUT it is unbelievably rewarding when you get the rules of the game and learn how to win at it!

Never be embarrassed to do what you need to do to change your situation. When I was younger I cleaned my dance studio bathrooms, mirrors and floors for YEARS when I couldn’t afford lessons. I was ashamed at the time, but now I am proud because it made me realize that being humble and willing to make the sacrifice for what you really want in life is always worth it. I am soooo much stronger for it.
