It looks like a city under occupation. 17 days after the ceasefire, the mood is not simple hope or simple despair. It is confusion, distrust, exhaustion, and a silence full of questions no one can answer. The subway is free now, apparently. A cheap little bribe from the same terrorist Islamic Regime occupying Iran that spills our blood, breaks our economy, cuts our internet, then throws crumbs at us as if a free ticket can buy forgiveness. And of course, even the free subway is late. That is their whole empire in one image: ruin your life, offer you a discount, fail to deliver that too. The streets are not alive the way they should be. People move because they have to, not because the city calls them out. Public life has become functional, not social. Daytime is for errands, clinics, work, survival. Night belongs more and more to fear, checkpoints, and the regime’s staged little circuses. You see fewer faces buried in phones now, because what is there to check when the regime has strangled the internet for weeks? Instead, almost everyone wears headphones, as if the whole city is trying to shut reality out before it crushes them. Because the thought is unbearable: that after all this blood, after January, after the arrests, after the torture, after the gallows, this mafia might still survive. Every major intersection, every square, every main four way carries the same sickness. Men in green and black, guns and batons in hand, military vehicles behind them, walking over our streets like they conquered a foreign land. For one second, you feel like you have been dropped into a Metal Gear game. Then you remember: no, this is my city. Do you know what it feels like to be a third rate citizen in your own homeland? I debated on sharing this because of the negativity on X and how certain accounts are doing their best to bring others down. But I decided to share it tonight because I am proud. And I do know so many are rooting positively for my family. So yesterday when we were shopping for cars with my daughter I had asked if she had heard anything back from her interviews? She had three. She was one of the first in her class to be offered interviews. She told me no. Not yet, Mama. I said ok. We get to dinner. (Yes, we bought the car. Picking it up on Sunday) She told me she had to show me something. But wait for Daddy and turn the volume up. So I did. My child... my beautiful baby girl...LANDED HER DREAM JOB!!!!! Right after graduation, she starts. Not only did she LAND HER DREAM JOB....(HER FIRST PICK) SHE LANDED THE OTHER TWO AS WELL!!!! All three departments wanted HER on their floor. I was shocked. And then I cried. Then I smacked her arm and said, "Why did you lie to me?" Then I cried some more. My baby landed her dream job. She is reaching for the stars like I told her she would in her high-school yearbook. I told her she would make something of herself with the will and drive she has. Her determination and goal oriented spirit. Her kindness, empathy, and compassion taking her to a place where she will be the VERY BEST NURSE SHE CAN BE. I'm just emotional and undone the past two days. I don't think it gets any better than this. My baby. Mine. She will always be my baby. So proud. So hopeful. So excited for her future endeavors. Proud of my baby. Did I mention I love her? Oh yes. My mama heart is full. We have her 100%.❤️❤️❤️❤️
