3.Arrived in Huế about 2.5 hours later to drizzle and an unexpected chill, more typical of British weather. I arrived still in a t-shirt and jorts....this may have been optimistic.

I landed in Da Nang 🇻🇳 this morning and after clearing immigration, went straight from the airport to the train station. Managed to get a ticket on the next train north to Huế with very little drama, which already felt like a small victory given my usual pre-trip planning (0)

@Ajarncom Coming back after Christmas in 2023, I had a big shop at either Aldi or Lidl & the co-op, just as well I packed light on clothes because the tinned goods especially, meant I was pretty much at 29.9999kg when I checked in with Emirates.

Just done a round of Aldi supermarket. Many people complain about rising food prices in the UK but in places like Aldi, so much of the produce - especially fresh veg and frozen foods - is still way cheaper than in the Thai supermarkets. I've said it before and I'll say it again - when you factor in average salaries, Thai supermarkets are generally an absolute rip off.

@Rob_Bernard @portfcsandpit Took me nearly 10 minutes to get out of Zone B at half time, God forbid there's ever an incident as there's little to no escape routes in the stands. I got into Zone D 2nd half, a bit more breathing space there although I did nearly lose my phone....
