We need to send a message to fraudsters that if they commit the crime they are going to do the time. My Zero Tolerance for Fraudsters Act is simple. Anyone convicted of fraud worth $1 million does at least a year in prison. $5 million or more gets you at least 5 years in prison.

The Zero Tolerance for Fraudsters Act that I introduced today would institute mandatory minimum sentences for fraudsters like this. At least one year of prison for fraud convictions valued at $1 million. Five years for fraud convictions valued at $5 million or higher.
