There's obviously a lot of matches to play, but at this very moment on the live table, Atlanta's Round of 32 match on July 1 would be... England (Group L leader) vs Portugal, Spain or Ecuador (3rd place Group E/H/I/J/K)

Perhaps the most intriguing things about #CZERSA are why do the refs have tricolour stripes, and why are they different ways around on the shirts and shorts?

25 touches 3 shots (0 on target) 1 duel won That is the 2nd least amount of touches Ronaldo has ever had in a World Cup start 😮

This.
Spirit of the Game@OneAddedMinute

@TaylorTwellman It’s interesting bc the ref called a corner kick. As in the defender won the bal. Once it’s determined the defender doesn’t get the ball, I feel his hand is forced to pen. They awarded a goal kick after all, acknowledging no touch on the ball

Our most American experience so far🇺🇸 We met with the Houston Police department and ate typical Texan BBQ together. It looked in there just like in the movies. They even put on Ella Langley just for us.😂

@RudiSchuller Atlanta United actually uses a larger field size so I am not sure why they had to remove seats when they shrunk the field

@kendrickbrock I understand that, but that's what I'm saying. If it was actually built to accommodate a FIFA-sized field they wouldn't have had to remove any seats. MLS' specs are less stringent.

Atlanta (Mercedes-Benz) Stadium has always impressed me, but I wish they had designed it to be able to fit a proper-sized soccer field in there without the giant walls at each corner.

@realparkmcglone What's up with the new speakers hanging down that will be interfering with some people's view of the halo board?

England have the infrastructure and requirements to host the FIFA World Cup on their own. The country has a strong pool of world-class stadiums, including: Wembley Stadium (90,000) Old Trafford (74,000+) Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (62,000+) London Stadium (62,000+) Emirates Stadium (60,000+) Etihad Stadium (53,000+) Anfield (61,000+) St James' Park (52,000+) Villa Park (42,000+) Stamford Bridge (40,000+) Stadium of Light (48,000+) Elland Road (53,000) Hill Dickinson Stadium (52,000+) In all, United Kingdom will host conveniently.
Man of Letters.@Letter_to_Jack

Resources and Infrastructure. The 48 Nations World Cup would be too demanding for Mexico to organize. We are looking at 104 games across 12 groups, which would demand a minimum of 16world-class, FIFA-approved stadiums. No country in the world, not even England m, has more than 10 FIFA approved stadia that is standard required for World Cup games.

@FelipeCar They should make the teams stay in the middle of the field and have volunteers take water out to them

@elbirdman @townbrad No they put in a cool season grass so the texas heat at this point would not be good for it. They also don't want the field getting uneven amounts of light

Another view of the pitch and Grow Lights. Stadium GM Tod Martin says that at this point in the grow-in process, the lights are turned on mostly at night.

The should play the FIFA World Cup day games in Houston with the stadium roof open. That surely would not lead to a major medical catastrophe.
