There’s a clear reason Odegaard drops deep. People want him to stay where a 10 “should” be, but he’s not playing a traditional 10 in this system. He knows it. Arteta knows it. Some fans just aren’t seeing it. Our struggles to progress the ball were obvious against Bournemouth. Look at it from that angle and you start to appreciate why the captain drops in, takes control, and moves us up the pitch himself. What’s funny is people will say Rice and Zubimendi can’t progress the ball, then turn around and criticize Odegaard for doing exactly that.
