I didn't do any work directly on the OLE project during my time in the Breaker Lab, but I'm convinced that OLE is one of the most exciting bacterial #ncRNA discovered in recent years. Definitely check out this preprint if you'd like to see some really exciting RNA structures.

#ncRNA molecules are stranger than you think. We propose that OLE RNA is bacteria's functional mimic of #mTOR. The Das lab at Stanford proposes OLE RNA penetrates cell membranes! They also find that RNAs we called ROOL and GOLLD form 8-membered nanocages. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

1/ Spring’s AI tools are loved by scientists. But we do not make enough money to continue running the company. Our tech gives ground-breaking new superpowers to researchers and has helped therapeutics groups around the world, from big pharma to biotech to rare disease orgs to academia. At the same time, we’ve struggled to find a business model that can support our operations. We’ve made the difficult decision to wind down. We know the closure of Spring leaves a major gap in the market. We’re currently having many discussions about ways for our platform’s impact to live on. I’m entertaining ideas here, more at the end.
