@ElenaKanagyLoux I could not agree more Elena. It was the same in Ireland as elsewhere and yet, I have rarely seen this acknowledged in conventional history books. This was because it was done invisibly by women behind the scenes. We have to write our own histories!

Many people assume I am talking about the leisure activity of a few housewives when I say that I study the history of lacemaking… no, it was a massive, international labor network of girls & women that major regional economies were dependent on. And it’s not an anomaly
